Strangely, the 12.4-inch touchscreen maintains the same resolution at 1536 x 1024 (148 PPI), while a backlit keyboard is still nowhere to be found. This is also the first Surface to support Intel-based secured-core PC for added protection. It’s not an everyday laptop for power users but could do well as a secondary laptop or Chromebook competitor. That can be upgraded to 8GB, while storage goes up to 256GB. That’s still plenty affordable, and storage is at 128GB by default - that’s double the gen 1. The starting price of the Windows 11 system has been raised $50 to $599 (and let’s be real, everything is more expensive, these days). ![]()
